My name is Michał Męciński, I live in Poland, I was born in 1982. In 2005 I graduated Computer Studies at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Currently I work as a developer and technical team lead for a medium size software company in Gliwice, using mostly C# and other Microsoft technologies. I also create open source, cross platform software, using C++ with the Qt framework, and PHP. I'm married and have a son, Adam, born in January 2012.

Once my dream was to create computer games, but over time I learned that with a creative and open minded approach, almost every task can be an interesting challenge. So I try to combine doing useful things with purely academic projects and earning money with free software. I enjoy designing functional and technical aspects of programs even more than actual coding, and I mostly work on long term projects which take years to evolve and form into various shapes.

In the little remaining free time that I don't dedicate to coding and to my family, I try to relax by listening to music, mostly progressive metal, watching movies, and playing computer games. I used to spend a lot of time going out with friends and attending to various festivals and concerts, but my priorities have changed over time. However, I still have a lot of crazy ideas that I would like to accomplish, and I feel more creative than ever.
